About Joe Roache

Joe Roache Joe Roache creates oil, acrylic, and computer paintings and drawings, which range from figurative to abstract. His work has shown in museums, galleries and public spaces around the country and the world.


Joe completed his undergraduate study in art at Florida A&M University and graduate study at The University of Wisconsin, Madison graduating with an M.F.A. in Painting and Graphics. Mr. Roache has taught courses in 3D Animation and Design in the School of Journalism Media and Graphic Communications and Painting and Design in the Art Department at FAMU.


Joe has exhibited his paintings, drawings and computer art collages in many locations around the state and the nation. His work is in several public and private collections including; the Bendix Corporation, Florida A&M University Coleman Library, the Mississippi Museum of Art, the University of South Florida and the City of Orlando. In 1991 Mr. Roache completed a large painting for the School of Business and Industry at Florida A&M University which was financed by art collectors Bernard and Shirley Kinsey.


As a speaker in many conferences and professional meetings Joe has had the opportunity to continue his art study by visiting important museums and galleries around the world. Among them are: Oslo, Norway, The Munch Museum and the Vigeland Sculpture Park; Edinburgh, Scotland, The National Museum of Scotland; Nairobi, Kenya -- The National Museum; Moscow and Nischy Novgorod, Russia, The Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral, Vienna, Austria, Leopold Museum and the Secession; Paris, France, The Louvre as well as many museums and galleries all around the United States.


Recently Joe has been working on paintings that are influenced by his southern roots and his love for jazz and blues music and musicians.
